A WARM AND WELCOMING spiritual family

Fellowship Baptist Church began almost 25 years ago. Today, a congregation of about 30 people gathers each Sunday morning to worship God through joyful singing and biblical preaching.

  • Our focus is on a personal relationship with God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Our mission is to help believers mature in the faith by imitating the character and conduct of our Lord.
  • Our goal is to glorify God our Father in all we say and do.

Throughout our history, the Lord has saved souls and changed lives through the preaching of the Gospel in this community. Today, God continues to transform individuals and families through the faithful preaching and teaching of His Word. We gather several times each week to address the spiritual needs that we all face. More than a religious organization, we are a spiritual family that bears one another’s burdens as we seek to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Galatians 6:2; 2 Peter 3:18).

Doctrinal Testament

Our faith and the teachings of God's Word.

  • Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Since the Scriptures are God-breathed in the original autographs, inspiration extends to the very words of the Bible so that the entire Bible, and only the Bible, is the Word of God. As such, the Bible is infallible, inerrant, and our only rule of faith and practice.

    (Matthew 5:18; John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:18–19)

  • God

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing as one in His essence yet three in His persons. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, and co-equal in power and glory.

    (Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

God the Father: He is eternal, immutable, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the sovereign God of the universe, the Creator and Preserver of all things. He is perfect in holiness, righteousness, justice, and love. Having extended His grace and mercy to people by sending His Son to die in their place, He desires to have fellowship with them.

    (1 Chronicles 29:11; Psalm 65:2; Psalm 139:1–24; John 1:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:3–9; Romans 11:36)

God the Son: The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one Person, with both a divine nature (He is truly God) and a human nature (He is truly man). He existed from everlasting with the Father, was born of a virgin when He took on human flesh, lived a sinless life, and gave Himself willingly on the cross for the sins of people. He arose from the tomb on the third day, ascended to the Father, and will return to earth one day as Judge and King.

    (Matthew 25:31; John 1:1–3, 18; John 5:22–23; John 20:28; Romans 9:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:6– 11; Colossians 1:15–20; Hebrews 1:3, 6, 8; Hebrews 9:24; Revelation 19:11–20:6; 1 John 2:2)

God the Spirit: The Holy Spirit is a divine Person and not an impersonal force. He is fully God, proceeding from the Father and the Son. The work of the Holy Spirit included creation and the inspiration of the Scriptures. He calls people to salvation through Christ and dwells in the hearts of believers.

    (Matthew 28:19; John 16:7–14; Romans 8:9–16, 26; Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 5:18; Titus 3:5)

  • Creation

We believe the Genesis account of the creation of the world as a literal, historical record of the direct acts of God, without the involvement of any evolutionary process.

    (Genesis 1–2; John 1:3–10; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 11:3)

  • Mankind

We believe that man was created in innocence and in the image of God. However, in Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world and passed to all mankind destroying man’s relationship with God and resulting in death. Thus, all are sinners by nature and by choice, and therefore are under just condemnation without defense or excuse and deserve eternal punishment in hell.

    (Genesis 1–3; Isaiah 64:6; Jeremiah 17:9; John 6:44; Romans 3:10–12, 23; Romans 5:12; Romans 8:7–8; Ephesians 2:1–3; 1 John 4:19)

  • Salvation

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith alone in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and that all who receive Him as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

    (Isaiah 53:4–12; John 1:29; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 John 2:2)

Regeneration: When an individual responds in faith to the Gospel, repents of His sin and turns to Christ for salvation, the Holy Spirit causes a spiritual change in which He is freed from the guilt of His inherently sinful nature, receives the imputation of Christ’s righteousness, and thus is born again into God’s family. Regeneration involves an illumination of the mind, a change in the will, and a renewed nature.

    (John 1:12; John 3:3–7, 16; Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; Romans 3:22–28; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23)

Justification: This is the act of God whereby He declares the sinner to be righteous in His sight. Based on the work of Christ, God does not impute sin to the individual, imputing instead the righteousness of Christ.

    (Romans 3:22–28; Romans 4:1–8; Romans 5:1–2; Galatians 2:16)

Sanctification: Whereas regeneration is a one–time event in the life of the believer, sanctification is a continuing process by which God gradually transforms him into the image of Christ. This process will be completed when believers join Christ in heaven, perfected in holiness.

    (John 17:17; Acts 20:32; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 5:26; 1 John 3:2)

Preservation: Since salvation is based solely upon the grace of God and not on the merit of the individual, everyone who truly accepts Christ as Savior is eternally secure in His salvation and is kept by God’s power. Scripture, however, gives a solemn warning to those who profess salvation but whose lives give no evidence of change because of the willful, continual practice of sin.

    (John 6:37, 39; John 10:27–30; Romans 8:38–39; James 2:14–26; 1 Peter 1:5; 2 Peter 1:10; 1 John 3:7–10)

  • The Church

We believe that the church, composed of all who have trusted Christ as Savior since Pentecost, is the body of Christ. Christ himself is the Head of the Church. This spiritual organism is the universal aspect of the church.

    (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:23)

Organization: The local church is an organized assembly of baptized believers voluntarily associated together in the faith to exalt the Lord in worship, evangelize the lost through witness, and edify the saints through teaching, fellowship, and service. The local church has the absolute right of self–government and should be free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations, religious or governmental. Jesus Christ is the Head and chief Shepherd.

    (Ephesians 4:11–16; Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Peter 5:4)

Ordinances: Christ instructed the church to observe two ordinances, both of which are symbolical rather than sacramental or efficacious.

Baptism: All who profess faith in Jesus Christ should be baptized by immersion in water as a symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord.

    (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4)

The Lord’s Supper: The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service in which the bread and juice represent the body and blood of Christ.

    (Matthew 26:26–29; 1 Corinthians 10:16; 1 Corinthians 11:23–34)

  • Separation

We believe that Scripture commands God’s people to be holy and separate from all polluting influences, including sin, disobedient brethren, and false teachers.

Personal: Individual believers are the temple of the Holy Spirit and so must be pure from sin. They are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers nor found to be friends of the world.

    (2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1; James 4:4; 1 John 2:15–17)

Ecclesiastical: The church must separate from those who teach false doctrine and attempt to subvert the saints.

    (Romans 16:17; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18; 2 Thessalonians 3:6–15; 2 John 9–11)

  • Last Things

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ; His literal, physical reign on earth for a thousand years; the eternal punishment of unbelievers in hell; and the eternal blessings for believers in heaven.

    (Matthew 25:1–13; 1 Corinthians 15:24–28; 1 Thessalonians 4:14–18; Revelation 19:11–20:15; Revelation 21–22)

THE PHILSOPHY BEHIND OUR MISSION

The New Testament clearly commands the church of Jesus Christ to take the Good News of the Gospel to all people (Matthew 28:19–20; Mark 16:15; and Acts 1:8). Including those who are both near and far, we are to witness to those across the street as well as those across the seas. Given the fact that most Christians are not called to go as missionaries to foreign lands, we believe God would have us support those who are called to this ministry with our prayers and gifts. Beyond our scriptural duty to support such ministries, it is also our privilege to have a part in their work and to rejoice in their victories.

FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH SERVICE SCHEDULE

Sunday School:
9:30 a.m.

We begin the Lord’s Day by gathering to study the Word of God in a class format. Our goal is to learn the content and meaning of Scripture so we can live it accordingly.

Sunday Morning Service:
10:30 a.m.

After our fellowship, we return to the church auditorium for a traditional worship service. This includes singing, praying, giving, reading Scripture, and preaching. Our purpose is to give glory to God for who he is and what he’s done. The most important part of preaching is explaining what God intended to communicate to us and then apply that message to our lives. We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday morning of each month.

Sunday Evening Service:
6:00 p.m.

Our church family gathers together on Sunday evenings for more singing and Bible study. Most of the sermons are expositional and focus on the systematic study of the Word of God.

Wednesday Evening Service:
6:00 p.m.

After beginning with a hymn and opening prayer, we engage in Bible study for about 30 minutes. Following the study, we take the remaining time to pray for each other’s requests.
